Ask any CrossFitter how they feel about CrossFit workouts with running. The answer most likely will be that along the lines of “that wretched son of a gun.” Running is an activity that we do in crossfit, but most think of it as the sucky warm-up activity, or maybe the suck component of a WOD they do every so often (at least this is how my box is).
It was during a running wod that I felt a sharp stab at the back of my leg just below the buttock.
Thinking to myself ah damn, now I’m going to be out of action for a few weeks, just like the rugby players.
Try telling a CrossFitter they have to rest, it’s almost the same as texting your teenager and expecting a response.
That was my first step into the world of stretching. There was just no ways I was going to stop training.
Not long thereafter during a warm-up for one of the CrossFit Open workouts, I assumed position for a barbell clean, and zap! A very sharp pain shot through my hip, glute up into my lower back. Fear set in as I thought oh no, will I be able to do the Rx version of this workout.
But adrenalin is a magic potion and I finished the workout.
It did however take its toll. Pain continued and I found myself googling the following topic(s) in an attempt to gain knowledge, understanding, treatment etc.
